lyrics

Now that Sam Querenieche's bust
Is underneath a stockpile of ancient dust
And now that all the Disher Street days are gone
And buried under 32 suburban lawns
Did you expect to hear a ballad about us
I never saw a virtue in the obvious
I didn't mean to circumvent but it's how my initial vision went

I sang about The Late Fred Frazier Band
Uncovering a dead guy behind the man
And though 2004 has come and gone
It hadn't come to him yet when he moved on
When I found the black magic in my blood
I knew I'd have a bit left when I got done
And though I'm bleeding out I only want to keep my outside out

When the winter's in tact hold spring for the summertime
When we're moving too slow trade places with fall
When you ask me what it is I'll tell you what it's not

So every time you hear about my wicked head
You should think about the better side I left unsaid
And if you feel rejected from what I've not done
I'll tell you there's another one where that came from
But here we are in tact like a solid rock
That didn't need the mercy of the obvious
But know when I get done and when there's only room left for one
I'll make the last number about us
